Star Bound at The Calgary Stampede...
May 12th, 2005
On May 1st I performed a shortened version of my pirate act in front of a panel of judges. These judges where from the Calgary Stampede Talent Search and they were looking for unique talent to compete in a large competition held during "the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth"... The Calgary Stampede!
My act was judged as well as many other great performances ranging from singers to dancers and even actors! An estimated 240 plus performances were judged in the course of 4 days. Nobody knew what their scores were at the end of the day and we were all told that we would get a letter in the mail stating whether we were chosen or not. A few weeks passed and a letter arrived in my mail box. I felt my performance went very well that day, but I wasn't too sure if a magic act was what the judges were looking for. I opened the letter and I was accepted!
"CONGRATULATIONS" was written across the top of the letter. I couldn't believe it! I was one of the lucky ones chosen to compete!

This is the beginning of a great journey. I will be performing my pirate act on one of the dates during the Stampede. Depending on how well I do, I can advance to the second round of the competition and then finally the final round where the winner is decided. I won't be confined to performing on just one of the competition dates though. Various opportunities will arise during the course of the Stampede where I will be able to perform around the city of Calgary. This means that if you want to see me perform for free you can!
As of now I don't know what dates I will be performing or where I will be performing, but be sure to check back here often as I will know in the course of a few days, or even email me and ask. I will be sure to keep you posted!
